Kahirapan balakid sa tagumpay – UP cum laude grad

“I refuse to glorify the extreme poverty that I went through. Because the same poverty that everyone might think inspired me to make it all the way is the same poverty which hinders millions of Filipinos access to quality education,” sabi ni Principe.

“I refuse to accept that attaining a college degree is a as hard as passing through the eye of a needle; I believe with all my heart that education is a right, not a privilege.”

“Don’t get me wrong. Let my victory inspire you, but most importantly, let it enrage you… Let the inaccessibility of our healthcare enrage you. Let the expensiveness of education enrage you. Let the worklessness and contractualization enrage you. That rage is valid because it is rooted from your empathy towards the oppressed and the underprivileged,” aniya pa.

“I am with the poor and I know what it’s like to lose your spirit over a hungry stomach. I refuse to believe that poverty is NOT a hindrance to success because it is, my victory is an exception but it is not the norm,” bigkas ni Principe.

“There are real social, political, and economic conditions maintained by the ruling class to sustain this inequality which makes the rich much richer and the poor much poorer,” dagdag niya.

Naniniwala rin siyang responsibilidad niya na ipakita sa mundo ang kanyang identity: “a proud and loud QUEER, FEMME, KAGAY-ANON, BISAYA, and an APPLIED PHYSICIST.”
